The Blues Brothers 1980
I absolutely loved the music in this, and the dancing is iconic… but otherwise, it’s kind of shit 😬
I laughed 3 times at most, and was bored inbetween the songs. It certainly has a rather severe identity crisis over whether it is a musical comedy or a car chase film.

Bones and All 2022
This film really got under my skin! The cannibal element is done perfectly, not in a crude horror film fashion. It really is shocking. Also standout are the performances of Taylor Russel (whom I haven’t seen before) and Mark Rylance, the stunning fade transitions, and the film cinematography. I will need to rewatch this many times though, because the film is saying a lot that I just couldn’t pickup on one viewing. It’s a film I’m sure will stand the test of time!

The Banshees of Inisherin 2022
This film really does deserve 5 stars. Lately, I’ve seen some great films like Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, and Parallel Mothers that garnered 5 star ratings, but fell slightly short of them in my opinion. The Banshees of Inisherin certainly didn’t. It is a dark and thematically rich film, that I cannot do justice to after just one watch. Also, whilst it certainly isn’t a big Hollywood blockbuster like the upcoming Avatar sequel, it is really one to see on a cinema screen. The cinematography is first-rate, and the sweeping views of the Irish coast won’t be anywhere near as good on a TV.
