A powerful message of how religion and church are two very different things. Men took advantage of religion to create the church and assemble their dominance and power over the years. Church is about leadership more than it is about faith, and even the best of men can be corrupted with ambition. Leadership should not be even exclusive to men or women, but a mix of both, and that’s what I think this ending symbolizes.
