I absolutely love what Frankenheimer does in the scene in China where the brainwashing is happening. The rest is good, but in a way it's as if it's all downhill after the incredible opening 20 minutes or so.

Solid sports movie with an incredible pace.
In sports movies like this I always wonder how easy or difficult it is to film the actual sport sequences. I thought they were well done here though I felt there was a choice to have the final game in almost all slow motion. Maybe it was in earlier games too but I didn't notice?

As I watched I was like okay this is good but I had to elevate it to great after watching that final action sequence. Incredible. The opening scene and the final are the best parts. I could watch the fight scenes and action scenes all day. That umbrella in the beginning? The slide down the pole at the end? Good work Jackie Chan.

The first 17 minutes corporate greed incredibly well. You have these three guys who aren't part of the day to day wanting to produce cheap shoes to make a profit versus the passionate Gondo wanting to do things right by his company. I could of just watched a movie of Gondo versus the others at his company trying to get control by buying stocks and stabbing each other in the back for control.
That Kawanishi heel turn 43 minutes in…
