A horror story. For real. Passionate, intense opinions from the electorate also some of the most stupid quotes of the people, for the people and by the people about the last Presidential election in the good ol USA.
Like watching a dog joyfully putting his head out a car window, enjoying the sun and the wind... when he's on his way to the vet to be put down.
YouTube exists, making this movie's existence utterly pointless.
Really surprised that this doesn't get more praise. I was very interested in all of the POVs in this film and I don't remember the last time that I felt this sad watching a documentary.
I've always been very left politically, but I grew up in a family full of people who would probably be considered far-right today and seeing a couple pro-Trump POVs with families, especially the one with the more obnoxious father and his sons who obviously idolize him, this was a tough sit.
Tay and I were both in a pretty bad place surrounded by negativity when Donald Trump won the election and, at least in this cat's humble opinion, it only got worse on the world…
Every time a Hilary supporter was on camera, i felt glad that trump won. I don’t think that was intentional, but all the trump supporters seemed harmless and ignorant, almost all the Hilary supporters (mainly the white ones) seems so smug, fake, and arrogant, they really did deserve to loose. But that was the only interesting thing, everyone was boring, and the few interesting moments weren’t really that interesting. A very interesting moment in history presented in a very dull and uninteresting way.
watching this is masochism
Every 4 years I take off work, vote and am glued to the television. I don’t watch football and only tune into the Super Bowl for the half time show. For me election night is my Super Bowl. It doesn’t matter which way I politically lean but I do like watching history. This documentary had people from both sides of the aisle voting and watching television or listening to the radio all day.
One thing I have noticed about this documentary and in real life is people have fallen out of focus. Once again it doesn’t matter what political sides they are on. There are people worried that Donald would lose throughout the night. There are people positively sure Hillary…
Let this nightmare end in two days please. Please vote everyone!
Successful at producing the same gut-churning anxiety I felt on Election Night 2016. Unsuccessful at producing any new insights on a topic that's been discussed ad infinitum.
Though it did confirm that my tolerance threshold for the bullshit of Trump supporters has been diminishing dramatically in the last year.
1 1/2 stars for a completely useless film for the age of social media, a 1/2 star for my professor being one of the main characters, and most importantly, another 1/2 star for the shot of the Utah woman driving away to reveal a doTERRA windshield sticker.
