A time-travel experiment in which a robot probe is sent from the year 2073 to the year 1973 goes terribly wrong thrusting one of the project scientists,into a plague ravaged alternate time-line whose war weary inhabitants are locked in a constant battle with killer robots from the future.

Ein Virus bedroht die Menschheit. Der Wissenschaftler Sinclair schickt eine Zeitsonde/Kampfroboter/sich selber in das Jahr 1973 zurück, aber etwas geht da schief. Als er zurück nach 2073 kommt, hat sich alles geändert. Sinclair muss es wieder in Ordnung bringen.
Aus den USA kommt dieses S.F-Action B-Filmchen von 1994, der nicht viel zu bieten hat. 90er Videothekenware wird hier geboten, wie es halt zu der Zeit war. Der Schauplatz der Handlung spielt sich in Abbruchhäusern, der Wüste und in irgendwelchen Kellergewölben ab. Charaktere, Dialoge und Handlung sind 08/15 typisch, wenn es Kracht und die Action anfängt ist es ok. Überraschenderweise hatte der Film für mich keine längen und ging flott vorbei.
Für Fans dieser Art von Filmen ist er ein Blick wert
You’re in charge of sending a robot back in time for science, so of course you pick the rampaging kill bot. Brilliant. Well, that's not entirely accurate. You send a harmless regular robot back in time that you immediately lose track of, which THEN initiates a protocol that endlessly sends rampaging kill bots back to that same time period to murder everything. FRACKING GENIUS.
Da mir dieser Film und SCI-FIGHTERS noch in meiner "SCI-FI Sensation" Edition fehlte und ich ihn quasi umsonst in den Rachen geschmissen bekam, sagt man natürlich nicht Nein.
APEX, ist der typische Science Fiction C-Trash Schlonz, der schon seit einigen vielen Jahren den Tele 5 Freitag Abend/Nacht Timeslot belagert und von dort nicht mehr wegzudenken ist. Schaut man sich halt einfach mal so nebenher Second Screen, während man auf dem Laufband seine Runden dreht, die Steuererklärung versucht zu verstehen oder seinem Wellensittich namens Hansi die Locken auf seiner Fontanelle zu glätten versucht.
Wenn man sich mal die Arbeiten des Regisseur Phillip J. Roth ansieht, merkt man schnell dass er sich diesen C Trash Filmchen verschrieben hat. Viel hab ich persönlich…
This was incredible. Blissful VHS-era sci fi effects and visuals across the bar. JUST enough plot to hang your hat on while never truly getting in the way of video game esque robo explosion encounters.
Pyun-heads rejoice! Roth might be some sort of maestro. Very excited to peep some of his other films now.
Alright my second Phillip J. Roth movie and it was a big surprise as this was a lot better than Prototype X29A.
There's probably more action in the first 20 minutes of this then there is in the entirety of Prototype. The robots have a cool design that I liked a lot so its a good thing we see a lot of them. Like Prototype there's some CGI sequences that didn't look too bad for the time, I might even say they looked quite good.
Overall APEX is a big improvement over Prototype mainly due to this having a lot more going on and there's more robot action. This is a movie worth checking out.

Bordel c’est nuul à la limite au début c’est marrant mais le rythme est nul le jeu est nul c’est moche l’intrigue est naze c’est une tentative de reproduire total recall mais c’est nuuuuuuul, néanmoins j’ai bien aimé la réplique « j’vais te botter le cul si fort que ton premier gamin aura des vertiges toute sa vie »

The plot is so convoluted and weird but I love it. This guy gets zapped to the past with a killer robot and then his return trip sent him to an alternate timeline where killer robots run rampid and humanity lives underground. People just blink out of existence Thanos style at times. The action and military garb in it reminds me of a low budget Starship Troopers but with robots instead of alien bugs. While there are pacing issues and the acting can be a bit sub par at times I'd say this one is worth seeking out because it is a lot of fun.
It's the future and scientists are sending a Killbot back in time, you know, for research.
Something goes awry and a helpless slob gets sucked into the timehole and winds up in the Future War part of Terminator.
Philip J Roth was a cheap film guy that knew how to crank them out like hot rolls. He seems better that the Dohlers and Pyuns, at least so far.
Despite being cheap as shit, overlong and rather clunky this is reasonably entertaining with fun action scenes. Rather dire acting ruins the party a little and the dialogue ain't great.
Great to see Dean Jefferies Landmaster truck from Damnation Alley creaking along, almost unchanged. The robot suits are clumsy but elaborate, the paint job really sells it.
Lots of great fake UI, love that stuff. There's something hilarious about those "Access Denied" type screens in 90s movies.

It is a shame that any run of MST3K is over since I would have loved to seen them cover this thing as that is the only way anyone should watch it.
A.P.E.X. is a rather confusing mess of a Terminator Rip-off that drags out everything for way too long. The movie over explains everything that doesn't need to be explained or word it in a way that makes no real sense and barely explains any of the numerous plot holes and unexplained events that happen. The worst case is how the movie never properly explains how releasing one of the units was not only able to take over the entire world, but also how are more of these units…
There is exactly one and only one good thing about this movie. It's a sound effect from one prop gun that sounds like a steel I-beam being dropped onto an aluminum floor. That's it.
Joder que cosa más rara y mala, se hace eterna. Es como un capítulo malo de Quantum Leap.
PD: Me quedan unas cuantas del director. Intentaré acabarlas.
