knives out but there’s bowling
phil hartman insults an english girl by menacingly saying “I didn’t like the beatles and I don’t like YOU”, what an absolute icon
One of those forgotten movies that no one seems to remember, however its one I grew up on. I watched it countless times when I was younger. It had been a number of years since I last saw it but its just as funny as I remembered. The cast is hilarious. Especially the horrible family members with Phil Hartman as the standout. "I dont like the Beatles and I dont like you!". Lots of great lines in it. Love this movie.
succession but make it a feature length comedy
The way its story is constructed is a bit sloppy, but thankfully, Greedy is elevated by director Jonathan Lynn's brisk comic style and the efforts of a terrific cast, along with entertaining characters and plenty of genuinely amusing one-liners and gags.
Michael J. Fox is so cute, I wanna punch him in the face*

The unofficial blue-print for Knives Out, showcasing the privileged, white, toxic family and the atmosphere that comes with these characters being in close proximity with one another, incredibly well. Here however there is no semi-serious tone instead we have tons of quirk and tons of charm. Seeing a man talking about the “importance of family” and also flicking them off In such a subtle way is absolutely hilarious and the film is scattered with tons of equally fun gags.
"I didn't like the Beetles and I don't like you!"
About as great as I remembered it being in the 90s. Maybe not a five star movie, but it's definitely a very underrated comedy with what really should be an iconic ending shot honestly. I won't say what it is, but if you've seen this, I bet you can remember it without thinking too hard.
Story follows the McTiegue clan (yes the same name as the writer of "Greed") as they clamor and scheme and grovel obscenely to seek the approval of patriarch Kirk Douglas--they all want his millions and all wanna be left in the will--and if they can help it, they don't want anyone else to be in…
Whenever you see Michael J. Fox topless, he looks like a 10-year-old boy.
Tries to take the Imagine Entertainment 90s family aesthetic (think Parenthood) and toss a pinch of dark-comedy in there, but while the game cast does their best to salvage the material, the script is just too underwhelming to keep the film afloat.
Admirably tries to layer on the drama and some twists as the movie goes on, but it was too little too late for me.
As always, Phil Hartman is giving his all... thank you Phil Hartman.
Funniest final 10 seconds of any movie ever.
Man I really need to write more reviews this year.
I love Greedy so so much, it's one of my favorite non BTTF Michael J Fox movies. It's a very funny very sweet movie, that really only starts to over stat it's welcome in the last 20 minutes. But even then the ending is really nice and made me teary eyed the first time I watched this, Greedy has one of my favorite ensemble casts. I do wish they were utilized a bit more, Phil Hartman is amazing here. God I miss him so much, he was such a talented gent he deserved better. Phil and John Ritters death still cut deep. We also have one of my favorite character…
