  'Ice Katti Ice Katti' was the perfect balm in this godforsaken heatwave hell I am in right now. And Vijay dancing in fields of lavender and sunflowers was the almost-perfect balm for the mental health I am in right now.

  2012- (from Thuppakki onwards) may be the people’s favorite phase of Vijay’s filmography, but mine has always been 2003-2007 (Thirumalai to Pokkiri). This was the period in which Thalapathy was in peak form 🔥🔥🔥

  Sandwiched between Ghilli and Thirupaachi, this one is an often overlooked yet terrific masala film. Love Vadivelu’s comedy. Love Vidyasagar’s album. Love the punchline. And that climax is for the ages. It’s the complete entertainment package.

  Miss those mid-2000s Tamil masala films of this mould. They don’t make them like this anymore.

  I was a big fan of this movie during my childhood...
  "Machan peru Madurey" was my favourite song during that period!!
  Now that I've rewatched this movie I can say that it could have been better..
  All the songs are vibe material!
  Thalapathy has done a lot of commercial movies (Ghilli, Pokkiri) but this movie is not that level..
  Except few mass scenes this movie has nothing else, loved it only for Thalapathy....

  Typical Vijay fare with revenge as the
  motif. Songs are peppy,Vadivelu is brilliant in the earlier portions and also
  has a fair amount of sexual innuendo

  needed a lil dose of thalapathy for comfort and this hit the spot. 5 stars for the songs, the fact the album specifically icekatti isn't on spotify is an actual crime. tbh i need to rewatch the last 30mins because i fell asleep, but in a good way, sweet vijay shooting his nokia phone out of an arm holster was just too soothing
