I’m glad that it was only revealed this was a true story at the end. The narrative was already incredibly moving but ending it with that information really drove the emotional impact home. The choice of colours was equally beautiful

as someone who has struggled with suicidal ideations all my life and has NOT heard kind words when i mentioned it to people, i was so touched that Don Ritchie saved close to 500 lives

After seeing this film one of my friends said “every frame is an artwork” which perfectly encapsulates this short film. Amazing and impactful stuff right from the starting line

A beautiful film about a deeply upsetting subject, 'Teacups' is about a man who lived near a cliff - and helped hundreds from jumping off it to their death.
"I used to live up on a cliff, where people came to die." This is a short with an incredible opening line, one that hooks you instantly. The animation in this is notably fluid and subtle - a simple turn of a cup is 26 wholly unique drawings. This short is very effective through its use of close-ups, I really enjoy the fact that your main character can sense something's wrong while the audience hears nothing audible to prove that can be the case.
I greatly admire just how 'dark' this…
Beautiful animation, beautiful script, beautiful story. I sobbed at the end when I found out it was based on a real person 😋
