    Some of the crude and lazy western tropes of Japanese people that are played here for comedic effect are definitely a valid reason for anyone not to fuck with this film.

    I think this is Ari Aster's best movie and one of the best horror movies of all time. One of the most sinister movies I've ever seen, up there with "The Shining".

    I think it earns its supernatural elements more than any horror movie I can think of, operating on Gabriel Garcia Marquez levels of magical realism, where we are so connected to the inner worlds of the characters that the lines between reality and the otherwordly become irrelevant.

    So intense that after half an hour I felt like I had been watching it for 2 hours already, but I was completely hooked. Amazing movie
