Today i watched '2001: a space odyssey' by Stanley Kubrick for the first time with hbo. It was a breathtaking and surprisingly disturbing yet beautiful experience! I went into this with high expectations and a dad in the background telling me all the different pretty elements i had to notice. Im happy to say that this peice of cinema exceeded every last one of those high expectations i had (i had them mainly because of all the film bros). I think the next Kubrick thing il watch is gonna be full metal jacket so fingers crossed its gonna be as good as this masterpiece.

Please dont get me wrong i love this movie with all my heart but can someone please explain to me why so many IDOLIZE TRAVIS BICKLE?!?! If you can ignore the big amount of idolization a mentaly unstable person who drives a taxi gets its great movie! I love Robert de niro, i love martin Scorsese, i love jazz and i love character driven films.

I though that a slow paced 3 hours long historical drama would be dead boring. I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! never did i think it would be this fascinating. I really loved it. It was my second Kubrick movie and now im definetly gonna watch more by him!
