  A tightly paced thriller with some great performances. Fassbender continues to prove why he has the juice and Blanchett is always fantastic. The script leaves no room for downtime and I was shocked when it ended so quickly. Love a nice quick thriller with not many downsides.

  Mission: Impossible II 2000

  ★★½ Rewatched 18 Mar 2025

  Unfortunately, this does not live up to the heights of MI1. The first 90 minutes are just ridiculously boring. Cruise climbing is cool but also the best part of that opening act!! The script and romance arcs are the weakest in the franchise and the technobabble of the virus just completely grinds the film to a halt. The payoff is pretty fantastic when you get to the third act action but it takes so long to get there that I cant possibly rate this movie any higher. Good action but still the worst in the franchise for me.
