“Maybe we were just a bird and the branch it was sitting on that day”

A beautifully intimate movie that asks a lot of questions and doesn’t try to answer them for you. A story about fate, relationships, and love. Song does such an incredible job putting you in every conversation and every interaction and doesn’t take you away until you’ve had the chance to think about it. We enter every shot a few beats early and leave every shot…

If no one loses their head then no one’ll lose their head.

I blame it all on Darryl.

I have no control over this evil thing inside of me. The fire, the voices, the torment.

Just insanely impressive that this was made almost 100 years ago. The choice to not use any score threw me a bit at first but I think it ends up working really well, especially because it makes the whistle stand out so much. Peter Lorre might be the most expressive actor ever, almost felt like he was still acting in a silent film, but then his dialogue at the end was phenomenal. Those last 20+ minutes are incredible stuff

Would you lie for me, George?

    Hell. Yes.

Soderbergh has all the juice. Fassbender is the coolest nerdy spy of all time. Blanchett is cooking. Give me at least one of these movies every year and I’ll die happy

You don’t face your fears, you ride ‘em.

Just a really fun summer movie that everyone should see on a big screen. Glen and Daisy are awesome and there are some great supporting roles just like the original (shoutout Brandon Perea).
