Dune 2021
I think this movie Is stunning to look at. the scenery and costume design is incredible. Unfortunately - every character had the emotions of a robot. At times - It felt like nostalgia was doing the heavy lifting in this movie... There are so many things that just felt empty and inaccessible for someone who has not read the source material in 20 years.

House of 1000 Corpses 2003
Rob Zombie's first horror movie plays a bit like one of his music videos - and I love it. House of 1000 Corpses is so fun to watch from the start to finish. It's scary, disturbing, funny, bizarre, and has some of the best horror imagery of the 21 century. Also - Captain Spalding, played by Sid Haig, may be one of the greatest additions to horror.
