Long before this became known primarily as a christmas movie, I thought of it primarily as a counter-strike movie.

Watched this to cap off getting through Monsieur Spade, which sadly (I think) gets so much of the character of Spade and the appeal of this movie wrong.
(Though I love the attempt, and continuing one of the noir classics by placing it in 60s France, which has its own rich history of noir, was an inspired choice.)
