Eighth Grade 2018
Really outstanding performances. Really great directing. At times it felt slow and the whole “awkward tween gag” got stale (though still accurate). This is movie impressed me because it managed to take something so basic, eighth grade, and use it as a catalyst to send important messages about growing up, standing up for yourself, and learning how to be who you are.
