Atmospherically pleasing and well color balanced in its own gritty way without the overdone sepia-tone/grey of Zack Snyder. This film's take on the setting, characters, and plot stood out to me as exceptionally gothic (the architecture of many of the sets were stunning) and emo (Bruce Wayne's haircut and the somewhat disturbing riot-porn/school-shooter-porn that has taken rise—The Joker, The Purge). A Tim Curry movie with Tim Curry humor—the panache in this film feels a lot more signature of him than it does of John Landis and most of his other films. A remarkable campy comedy that takes place over one fatefully chaotic morning, a comedy of errors upon errors and errors. A nice little mindless flick but so entertaining because so many subplots are roiling on the stove all at once. Good laughs, didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did.

Also great because it's starring Red Foreman playing Red Foreman. Love that dude.

Another movie that leans into generational trauma, existentialism, and being a person to other people.

An interesting amalgamation of the tepidly received (afaik) Mr. Nobody, Matrix-esque sci-fi, classic Hong Kong martial arts films (ones often featuring Michelle Yeoh), and Bo Gia family business. One of the many thoughts floating around in my head after seeing this movie — this is what Encanto wishes it was (a review of Encanto that I resonated with called it "the yassificiation of generational trauma").…

I see a decent amount of hate going around for this movie but this is a solid 5-star for me. I don't know the politics of these actors, hell I barely know these actors at all but as a Vietnamese american this hits hard.

The subtitles don't do this movie justice and you really have to understand Viet and asian culture to really get the full experience from it—the archetypes remind me of people that I know in my own…
