Does what a sequel 20 years later needs to do- stand on it's own and not try too hard to recapture the magic of the original. Young Fathers featuring heavily on the soundtrack is a big assist

Truly a crazy watch in 2024. Every conceivable spy thriller trope is in this movie, because it was made in 1935 and basically invented all of them. If any movie used them now, it would be seen immediately as hokey or parody; in fact, as a millennial I've mostly been exposed to these tropes through 90's Nickelodeon cartoons referencing old classics.
