Taken 2008
Simple but incredibly effective. 90 minutes of no nonsense relentless action entertainment of watching Liam Neeson taking down bad guys in the most satisfying ways possible.
I think Taken still would’ve worked as the personal stakes are engaging and the action is brutal and tense. But Neeson is this movie’s greatest asset. He just completely commands the screen with his performance.

A Working Man 2025
It’s a perfectly serviceable action flick. But after Statham and Ayer’s last collaboration The Beekeeper I expected more than that. It just doesn’t have that same level of energy and cheesy fun to make it stand out. It’s just very workmanlike.
But Jason Statham hitting and killing bad guys is one of my favourite genres so naturally I still got some entertainment value out of this despite the flaws.

Mad Max: Fury Road 2015
I agree with Hideo Kojima. George Miller is God.
Action filmmaking at its finest. Emotion and excitement all captured through amazing imagery and sound. Even after 10 years Fury Road still hasn’t been topped on the insanely creative action spectacle it has achieved without skimping on the story and characters to keep you invested in the car-nage.

Madame Web 2024
Can’t say this was good but it was weirdly fun and watchable.
Just a fascinating mess of a movie with some of the worst ADR I’ve witnessed in a big budget movie. Somehow a movie from the 60s like Goldfinger does a better job with this aspect. But it had me laughing every time it was happening at least.
Things like that make it just cross over so bad it’s good territory. Along with plenty of bad dialogue, awkward crash zooms, edits and other spidernonsense.
I was never bored so fuck it… 3 stars! I don’t care.Translated from by
