  I wanted to see Willem Dafoe as a salty sea dog bound to dark, unknowable beings whose true names would crush the souls of mortal men under their pressure, beings that would tell us that hell is not within the earth, but within the very seas from which life first bloomed, nourished by poison and darkness.

  And yeah I guess I got that. Would have liked to see more of it though.
