I love everything this movie is trying to do. It's trying to be about love, passions, family, and the paths we take in life. It's trying to be profound and emotional, but in its execution... it just fell flat. The two leads are very bad and they had no chemistry, that's the very foundation of this movie. If they don't work, the movie doesn't work. The movie is bland and ineffective throughout, and it just ends up being very forgettable.

I actually despised this movie and I’m kinda shocked by the positivity. First of all, this movie is 3.5 hours long and I felt every minute. It was one of the most miserable theatrical viewing experiences of my life. But this movie also does nothing with that runtime. The characters lack any depth. They’re very surface level and the plot is rinse and repeat throughout. There’s definitely a better, more streamlined version of this movie.

Ummmmm what movie did you guys watch? This was absolutely terrible.
The performances with the exception of Tony Leung are all flat and dull. The characters aren’t interesting and explored in any meaningful way. The movie is visually ugly. The story is a mess with a complete over reliance on flashbacks and exposition. The CGI is bad. The humour is predictable.
And the last act is atrocious. No build up to the threat whatsoever, so I couldn’t have cared less…
