How was this movie made in 1989?!?!?!? This movie looks absolutely stunning. There are moments that made my jaw drop! That shot of Bud swimming above the ship, JUST WOW! No one does it like Jimmy C.

But there's real emotion here, and I love how the second half is just thrilling set piece after thrilling set piece. So tense and exciting, and this movie doesn't get the love it deserves! It's phenomenal.

Ummmmm what movie did you guys watch? This was absolutely terrible.

The performances with the exception of Tony Leung are all flat and dull. The characters aren’t interesting and explored in any meaningful way. The movie is visually ugly. The story is a mess with a complete over reliance on flashbacks and exposition. The CGI is bad. The humour is predictable.

And the last act is atrocious. No build up to the threat whatsoever, so I couldn’t have cared less…
