  Shockingly better than the original (which I’m a big fan of), mixing aspects of Rosemary’s Baby, Suspiria, and Cronenbergian body horror into The Omen lore, and giving new meaning to the idea of evil incarnate. 

  The film is also thematically rich and more disturbing than scary, examining the patriarchal oppression of the Roman Catholic Church in such horrific detail, it makes you shudder to consider how accurate certain elements might be. Let’s just say I can’t imagine the church is…

  This was amazing. Maybe the best film I've seen at a Sundance premiere (admittedly a limited selection). Looking forward to watching it again when it gets a wide release. The fact that the timeline of Chris' childhood lined up almost exactly with my own made it especially enjoyable. They captured growing up in the 2000s perfectly.
