It’s as quirky as Snowpiercer and better than Moon. Robert Pattinson does a performance that really shows his range and doesn’t come off as cheesy despite the setting’s over the topness.
The film doesn’t take itself too seriously, but does make for a good drama and is generally entertaining. It seems that Bong Joon Ho never needs to film “outside” to necessarily make an enticing story (although yes… they do film outside).
A great lighthearted film about community and friendship (and illegality), but I feel like it ends a little too soon. It needs one final tense scene or an epilogue.
Even as a member I can only give this film 3 stars. I like what they were going for and think good effort was put into it, but it suffers in a lot of places especially the script. No one in it is very interesting but it does have some good vibes.
It’s got a lot of hilarious lines in it, probably one of the most quotable movies out there. What it lacks is a very interesting plot to hold it all together, the plot is just doable. This movie is not granted an exception to the rules just because it’s a comedy.
