Rushmore 1998
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The elevator scene where Max is smug and leaning against the back wall, beside his portable beehive, is now one of my favorite slow-motion shots in any film. Although slow motion does have a profound effect on the audience, this sequence is not particularly artful; yet, this one sequence creates a criminal from a fifteen-year-old overachieving nerd while retaining the desire to root for his success.
