Do you mean to tell me that people have been making movies about the medical gaslighting of women for more than forty years and it's still going on?!

Perfectly serviceable slasher. Does a good job turning a rural hospital into a kafkaesque nightmare; it's not that far a leap!

Extremely sweet, even heart-warming regional horror out of Denver CO. A cursed VHS tape causes a hayseed writer who is new to the big city to start typing out future events. Lots of hammy lines and quirky characters. Love all the scenes in the video store and the love interest clerk and diminutive street hustler guy are great. A little light on gore, but the satanic CRT TV and VCR effects are fun.

Rented on VHS from Scarecrow. Wouldn't be surprised to find this one in a Vinegar Syndrome Homegrown Horrors box set some day.

Ugh this was SO BAD. Just a self-congratulatory anecdote without a thesis. Such bad storytelling constantly using voiceover and cutting back and forth to Iliza doing disconnected standup. My partner called the ending 20 min in and there were no clever twists. Even Margaret Cho couldn’t bring any depth the script. Don’t think I laughed once. Bummer. On the plus side, I got some cleaning done while watching.

Dripping with cinematic style, hilarious, unapologetically silly, and a little scary! The good doctor Rebekah McKendry knows the hydraulic machinery of horror. Sometimes the pressure is defused with a spurting gory gag, sometimes it builds to a moment of bloodshot intensity that makes you jump, and several times the film delivers proper cosmic body horror wtf moments with visuals that stick with you. Everything I want in a horror movie in a tight 79 min.
