Hairspray 2007
I VIVIDLY remember going to see this in theaters in 5th grade with my mommy in 2007. When we went to get tickets, the box office clerk looked at me and then my mom with a genuinely distressed face and said “ma’am. You know this movie has a *crossdresser* in it right?”. Then continued in some adult jargon that I don’t remember, pleading with my mom to not take me to see this movie.

Men at it again 😒
Kinda tricky thoughts on this film. Interested in the mental health questions. Kinda pushes trope of the “insane artist”… but understand why the spotlight on her health is needed.
