  perhaps one of the first genuine inquiries into what an American post-colony looks like, from the perspective of the people that have been colonized. The haunting of the past collective trauma is there, while presented as an uncovering, an archaeological digging up of memories that were always excluded from the dominant narrative of white suffering during the war. Here, the members of the interior colony exchange blows with the members of the exterior colony, finding both solidarity and extreme enmity towards each other.
