Metropolis 1927
Not gonna give this a rating cause we skipped around while watching in class but I saw enough to know 90% of what happened. Very influential film with a lot going on. Very ambitious stuff for the 20s but my modern brain struggles to comprehend it all with no dialogue. Definitely respect it though and I think if a top tier modern director tried to remake this it could possibly be great. Probably would be around a 3/5ish on this one though.

I’m kind of speechless right now. This is easily one of, if not the most devastating film I have ever watched. Sure, it’s a great look at the tragedies of war, but this is also just a heart wrenching tale of loss and trying to cope with it.
