    Flux Gourmet

    ★★★★

Those have to be the most tragic farts I've ever seen on film.

But I'm not going to leave it at that. I feel like I owe this movie a more serious review because it has really stuck with me. I thought Flux Gourmet engaged with its premise with enough confidence and sincerity to make me unquestioningly accept a world where "Sonic Caterers" who do sound and culinary based performance art are the apex of the art world. Black Cab

    ★★★

I thought Black Cab was entertaining, and it did a lot of things really well. I thought it was great at creating a foreboding atmosphere and Nick Frost was delightful to watch as Ian the sinister cab driver. He does "jovially menacing" very well and I thought he used just enough humor to keep the audience on their toes. The Brutalist

    ★★★

The Brutalist was a technically beautiful film. I thought the cinematography really worked to create a sense of awe. The score was beautiful, and I thought the opening credits were some of the best I've seen in a while.

    Anora

    ★★★

Overall I thought Anora was entertaining enough and worth watching for the ensemble cast alone. Yura Borisov was a standout for me and I'm very interested to see where his career goes, but I thought everyone played off each other really well.

I think my biggest issue was with the pacing. I think there were a few sequences that went on a little too long and got to be a little self indulgent, and I think that made the story drag at a couple of points.
