  maybe there is a good story behind this but it's hard to imagine the circumstances that led to this being made. like who was excited about this? why did so many people agree to be involved? I only watched about half of it and it wasn't *that* bad, it's more perplexing.

  maybe this all makes more sense from the perspective of someone Seinfeld's age. I was catching constant references in this movie to things I didn't know about. I bet these played really well with boomers.

  The Last Stop in Yuma County 2023

  watched on a whim. certainly watchable and I appreciate the 90min runtime. feel like it was one ingredient away from being quite good. costuming and sets were a little limited and I could never really get comfortable with the period setting. there was a self consciousness here, like the director was looking over his shoulder to see if the Coens or Tarantino approved of his efforts.

  I went into Iron Claw completely blind, having read nothing about the film or the Von Erich family in advance. I didn’t anticipate such a tragedy but it was handled very well. The family experienced so much tragedy the film is forced to make tough decisions about where to simplify the story, and I think they did a good job although leaving out an entire brother seemed like an oversimplification (they should have cast YouTuber Froggy Fresh as Chris, it would have been perfect). 

  Efron, Lily James, and Holt McCallany are the standouts here.

  I'll give this one another shot at some point. Friends with great taste recommended it but I was having a hard time really getting into it.
