  As far as romantic dramas go, I can’t say there’s a lot of new material here, but Fuhrman delivers a moving performance that shows her range beyond horror, and Stiles delivers some gorgeous direction in her debut.

  It certainly starts on an explosively haunting note, and De Niro and Caplan deliver great performances, but the show quickly loses the plot in its middle episodes, which is all the more frustrating given this is only six episodes long.

  As a longtime fan/defender of Whannell, I was ready to fight through the haters to love this one, and yet just couldn’t bring myself to do so. While I will stand by his design of the wolf man as being great, and the mix of psychological and body horror plays pretty well, the characters were meant to care about just never feel lived-in enough or compelling enough to ground us in the story, with the early parts of the film featuring some surprisingly stilted acting from Abbott and Garner.
