i have a LOT of thoughts about this movie. There is nothing new or novel about it - it perfectly fits the jigsaw template of a sports movie. But the stakes are so low, and the shenanigans are so high, that it sort of ends up being a treat to watch. Costuming and dialogue were standout. this thing was always gonna be a mess - the suburban paranoia, the writing, the tonal dissonance between Cage and the other actors - but the pace keeps up and there's enough sauce here that I can't bear to give it less than 4/10.
Could have been a 6/10 with an ounce of decent female rep
