    As much as I would love to soon have career prospects and a sustainable income, I'll miss the parts of unemployed life that allow for attending a near-empty Monday matinee of the new Bridget Jones by yourself and having a surprisingly emotional time!

    Going into 2025 I made a resolution to spend less of my time watching obvious slop. Maybe I found all the noise of this too curious to resist, or maybe I just wanted a silly viewing with my housemates, but either way it did not deliver. The most stubbornly unengaging film you could possibly make - everytime I tried to focus, I'd black out and wake up three minutes later with a game loaded up my phone once again!

    Aaron Taylor-Johnson is giving a performance so catastrophically bad that it almost tanks the entire film... thankfully the vibe & visuals are immaculate enough that it rises above him, but I couldn't help thinking what this might be if his role were recast with Robert Pattinson. I fear visions of that better version will now haunt my dreams as if it were Count Orlok himself!
