I was curious what the $2bn Chinese blockbuster would be like and, a bit Hollywood's $2bn blockbusters, it's a lot of samey action-comedy bits inbetween hugely expensive action setpieces. I didn't understand most of the wikia-level lore going on beneath that, because the translations did not extend to any of the on-screen titles for the 100 characters that were introduced, but I don't think that was too critical to understanding the old blind guy huffing farts or the holy fella…
