The story is too slow as it wanders around aimlessly for the majority of the movie's run time. There are moments of fun gore, but there aren't enough to make up for the lengthy times of inaction. It's also not funny enough to be a good horror comedy.
The Satanist is a sexploitation/horror-nudie that feels like the story surrounding its status as a long-lost yet recently recovered film is more interesting than the content of the film itself. It's great as a historical curiosity, and it's fine if all you really want is to see attractive, large-breasted women with no tops on, but I think most people will have a hard time getting past the sluggish pacing.
