Fun payoff/framing device, one absolute classic story, two near classics… and two kinda meh ones.
Splits the difference between Altman knockoff and mostly good episode of Studio 60. Saturday Night assumes you know enough about the show it is mythologizing- but not enough that you don’t mind the level of contrivance, cut corners and outright fiction it leans on particularly in the third act.
