Saw it again (maybe the third time now (?)) and again I was suckered straight into it.

Unfortunately, I watched the Zane Lowe/Radio 1 version -- the soundtrack was curated by Zane Lowe and he used contemporary music to replace the original score.

I understand the concept of trying to create an 'alternative listening experience' but when the music you choose are jarg Bastille and CHVRCHES tunes, then I've got to ask why you'd even think an alternative rescore is…

Watched with a friend who said it was one of their favourite films.

Said friend said: "Oh my God this is so shit" half way through. Sums up my thoughts exactly.

If I didn't like coming-of-age films and if I saw this solo without chatting shit/cracking jokes it's definitely be lower rated.

If you have any interest in American culture in the 20th century, or American music in the same period, then you owe it to yourself to watch this film.

I've never watched a Bakshi film before, but if they're all as gorgeously animated and presented, I look forward to discovering his ouvre.

Sometimes you watch a blockbuster and it just has zero fat on the script -- this is one of those times.

A fantastic film when it was released, and it still holds up. One of those blockbusters that deserves it's reputation.

Will say I was quite stoned watching it so zoned in and out. No idea how that affected my impression of it this viewing.
