Typically, outside of a romcom, Drew Barrymore does absolutely nothing for me so I was skeptical about this one. At some point I genuinely forgot that she wasn’t actually Little Edie. The same can be said for Jessica Lange, though that is less surprising because…… the range 🤌🏼

If you’ve ever seen the real Grey Gardens you know there is so much more to say that can hardly be contained in a short review. I think that this film did the tragic mother-daughter duo justice.

My son is in his Frozen Era right now so I’ve seen this a couple times. I can’t believe the hype this movie got back when it came out. The songs are quite terrible, the singing is mostly terrible too, and I don’t love the animation. I think the story had potential, as far as children’s fairytales go, but I just find everything about this movie…. the opposite of catchy.

I was never going to actually put any words down about this nasty ass “film” but now that it has won a multitude of awards that it absolutely did not deserve, beating out performers and material that actually did, I just feel compelled to say… the disappointment is astronomical.

“Rape eyes.” Comedic. Oscar worthy. Right.

Stunning. Not a single bad performance. Not a single detail overlooked. I didn’t think there was enough time left in the year to be blown away by anything else, but Nosferatu came in at the 11th hour and completely fucked up the game. This film was so “5 star” for me that it prompted me to go back and adjust some ratings I previously gave other films from this year. Robert Eggers, you brilliant freak. Well done.
