The granddaughter of the original Dr. Caligari is in charge of an insane asylum of sorts, performing grotesque experiments while lots of kinky sex goes down — literally.
I actually kind of liked this bizarre low-budget oddity, loaded with nudity and gross imagery. It easily could’ve spilled over into the obnoxious, and managed to avoid doing so.
