Not sure, looked stunning at times, loved the way some of the scenes were constructed, but the plot failed to grab me at all. Was fairly uninterested most of the way through. Decent performances though.

Pretty easy 4.5 for me. Flawless direction and performances from the two detectives and doe. A film just as good on rewatch in my opinion, perfectly paced and lots of subtle details that go missed on the first watch. Also, certain interactions/direction choices are so much more meaningful knowing the ending. And on the ending, maybe the best final 20 minutes in all of cinema? Truly flawless.

On each rewatch of these impeccable films something else stands out to me. This time it was the dialogue between Frodo and Gandalf in the mines of Moria. The score is also just so insanely good.

Dune Messiah could be the best film of all time and I reckon that trilogy would fall short. That’s just a testament to Lord of the Rings.
