Hi diva.. Can I call you diva? My name is Cardinal Fierce… You’re not in trouble boots, we’re just trying to get the tea on this situation…

It’s a cool feeling to watch something and know that it will be watched as a b-movie in the future. Kind of a mess, but I enjoyed it. Felt like it couldn’t decide where it wanted to go tonally and a lot remained unexplained (or underwritten), but still built up some good thrills. (As well as some surprising laughs!) Hunter Schafer gives a strong performance in her first lead film role, against a kooky Dan Stevens and Jan Bluthardt. I wish…

Really love Mildred shaped as an independent career woman, who I honestly still think should end up with Ida. All of the men around Mildred suck!! Aside from that, Vida is like a top 10 movie villain to me… Appreciated this more this watch, especially the beautiful shadows and lighting design, gorgeous compositions, and a fast paced quippy script. Joan gives such a great performance here and is able to give such subtle yet impactful expressions throughout it.

I have never seen a movie where everyone is tasked with “acting like a spy” so intensely and I am kinda obsessed with it. These characters are spies first, humans second. I feel like I am going to be annoying about Black Bag. (compliment) An overly talky movie in such a good way. Everything is so exact. Fun score. Hot!

Been kinda working up to watching this for a while, I feel like? Actually last March was the first time I saw Coffy + Foxy Brown and I have watched some other Pam Grier movies since, but George and I have been talking about watching this for a while. Gave a little bit more of a payoff of seeing those other performances and then to see her 20 years later here, giving a career high.

    Tarantino gives Pam a vehicle…
