  Nothing that belongs to it exists anymore.”

  Rarely does a film infect the viewer with such a tangible sentiment. I would first like to speak to the film’s aesthetic choices and mise en scene. Claustrophobic shots from low and bizarre interior angles feel simultaneously constraining and warm. The camera is never in an authoritative position. Rather, we perceive the characters from behind a curtain, from a closet, under a bed, through a door, across a hallway.…
