Queer is a movie that will most certainly divide the audience. It's not all that it's marketed to be while simultaneously being more than it was marketed. The heavy symbology and metaphors are dream-like and make, upon first impact, little to no sense. Your Monster is for the most part a very enjoyable romantic comedy with some horror elements at the end. What immediately stands out is the great performance by Melissa Barrera who once again steals the show. Her chemistry with co-star Tommy Dewey is endearing and makes for a delightful interaction between the two. Their sense of humor is spot on and they are just fun to watch together. This must be one of the most tranquil movies I have ever seen in a theatre with the most restless audience. Constant shuffling around, snacking on chips, whispering and fidgeting. Other than that I had a completely wholesome experience.
