This movie is a vibe. Best way to summarize it. You come in with the promise of action packed crime and stay for the creepy surrealism of Abel Ferraras dystopian New York. Every scene is just an illustrious display of nihilism and despair and you can take literally any quote in the movie and it’s a ducking spectacular one liner.A few of my favorite:

Chungking Express 1994
This is my first Wong Kar-Wai film. I watched this movie for the first time today and I frustratingly can’t find the words to express how it made me feel. The movie felt like a whirlwind from start to finish; so fast that I don’t think I ever had time to process it. I feel the urge to watch it again even though I only finished it hours ago. It’s as if Wong Kar-Wai has the inexplicable ability to squeeze out all the passion and human emotion within you and leave you so empty after viewing and fiending for another fix.
