Mickey 17 2025
Bong Joon Ho, not you too... The recent rise of acclaimed directors being given a larger-than-necessary Hollywood budget and a stacked cast only to drop an absolutely miscalculated mess has to be studied. Pattinson didn't disappoint at least, but gosh, Mark Ruffallo seems to be eternally stuck in that Poor Things role, unleashing his true nazi Marlon Brando look here. It really did all go downhill when they didn't use the potential of radicalised Mickey 18 starting a trotskyist revolution…

Wittgenstein 1993
As Alex from Clockwork Orange would say, "a bit of the old Ludwig". A fittingly out-there biopic for the most queer out-there philosopher there is.

Fargo 1996
No film can be perfect, but Fargo comes quite darn close. Frances McDormand deliveres one of the most iconic and distnctive lead performances of all time. Stylistically this is minimalism at its best, and with every rewatch you just get more out of it. The Coen Brothers have truly perfected their craft. A must watch for any film lover.

Anatomy of a Fall 2023
This is my feminist literature.
Cannes winners rarely disappoint. TÁR meets The Worst Person In The World in this breathtakingly executed masterpiece, dissecting the modern institution of marriage and the underlining patriarchal influences deeply ingrained in relationships, courtrooms and "cancel culture". Such a meticulously crafted plotline through which we are constantly morally challenged to pick a side, even if there might not be one, or at least not in it's simple form. Ironic that i watched this on the same day as Basic Instinct, it's literal anti-thesis. Sandra Hüller should absolutely be the Oscar favourite. No words, just watch.
