Holding space for this perfect stage to screen adaptation. Theater is so difficult to adapt because its a drastically different form of art from film. This film stays loyal to the musical, but finds a happy medium between the hollywood blockbuster and a slime tutorial.

I enjoyed the overall effect of the slow horror and uncertainty of a world plunged into an unknown epidemic (seems familiar… hmmmm). It wasn’t what I expected at all. I expected the vampiric element to be more prominent, and to me there is still some confusion of the nature of the main heroines affliction; is it parasitic, using her body as a host? Or is this some mutation of her own that has refocused her biological needs naturally? Either way…
