what a charming, so classically Wes Anderson tribute to journalism!
I had so much fun in each of the dazzling vignettes, my joy amplified by perfectly crafted sets and cuts and actors and DIALOGUE!!
not sure who I love more tho, Owen Wilson in this film or Midnight in Paris…
For a bitch that loves fairytales and a bitch that loves a pointed political critique, this was perfect! Successfully tip toes between grim & violent and magical & innocent.
Likeable protagonist, graceful subversion of traditional fairytale and film storytelling, stunning set & costume design, gorgeous soundtrack & loaded with cool philosophical, intertextual & artistic references.
Almost as good as Baka’s old Croatian folk tales xxx

As a big fat environmentalist i’m obvi all for the criticism of our exploitation of & attempt to tame natural ‘beasts’, but idk I just wasn’t that into it.
I think the Gordy storyline was the most interesting, the rest of the characters I couldn’t seem to care about & really root for. Although I do love Keke with all my heart <33
Perhaps it’s just not my genre soz
