I’m so so glad I went and saw the preview for this at the BFI, it was one of my favourite things I’ve watched recently. As the writers said in the Q&A, there is a strange relatability to this film and I think not many might admit to it because it’s rooted in social anxieties and insecurity.

Long have I waited for this… and now that I was fortunate enough to see it “early” at the London Film Festival, I think my whole anticipations and hopes lessened my enjoyment of the film to some extent. It was such a joy on so many levels. Great cast (David Bradley, Cate Blanchett, Christoph Waltz, Ewan McGregor and everyone else really), amazing visuals and animation, and quite a few moments that got everyone laughing.

After a miserable week of being ill, there was nothing that could’ve cheered me up like this.
And again, Alexandre Desplat’s notes hit so well. Every. Single. Time.
