Rapture 2023
Saw at Camerimage. A lot to like in this film, especially the visual language with the very formal presentation. Lots of this plays out in long takes with dolly and crane moves to track the action through the scene which really immerses you in the world. I did find myself appreciating a lot of what was shown rather than being emotionally affected. There is a lot the film is exploring through the various characters that is interesting and engaging but I was left wanting to be more emotionally invested in the piece. Still very impressive filmmaking on display.
