I am a sucker for great dialogue. I should watch more films adapted from plays; the plays that get made into films represent the very best of dramatic theater, and many (if not most) theatrical drama successes are dialogue-driven.

Consider these films adapted from plays which are brilliant: Glengarry Glen Ross, and A Few Good Men (which I've watched) and David Mamet's American Buffalo, the Philip Seymour Hoffman-starrer Doubt, the Golden Age classic The Philadelphia Story, Who's Afraid of Virginia…

How had I never heard about this film before hearing Bill Gates mention it in a random YouTube video? Very compellingly written, and brilliantly acted by both Eisenberg and Segel.

Really, really good. Sid's room was a wonderful setting.

Spoilers: the twist with Woody breaking the "no talking" rule was genuinely surprising and great. The use of the rocket in the final escape was less surprising, because Chekhov's gun required it would be used at some point, but that was an incredible sequence nevertheless.

Quite touching as a metaphor about grief.
